The Courtesan's Lesson
Seduction as something learned, demonstrated and passed from one woman to another.
An ageing courtesan takes a young woman under her wing and prepares her for the king.
Her lessons are not simply about sex. She teaches patience, observation, confidence, restraint and how much can happen before anybody removes a piece of clothing.
How do you read desire? When do you move closer? When do you make someone wait?
The teaching begins formally but becomes increasingly intimate as demonstration replaces explanation.
Eventually the student has to discover which parts of the lesson belong to the courtesan and which belong to her.
